Bringing an Investor Mentality to the Fundraising Process

Harken Capital Securities, LLC (“Harken”) provides fund placement services to buyout, growth, energy, healthcare, and other industry-focused private equity and venture capital firms. We provide both primary fundraising and secondary transaction services to institutional clients. Harken was co-founded by Don Nelson and Fred Malloy.

Our team has over 35 years of experience building private equity firms, raising capital for emerging managers, making fund commitments and raising capital as placement agents. Harken team members have raised over $3.9 billion in commitments from leading investors around the globe, and advised on over $2.6 billion of secondary transactions. Our founders have each had a key role building a top-performing investment firm. This heritage as private equity investment professionals provides us with an investor-focused perspective that sets Harken apart from traditional placement and secondary advisory firms.

Harken Capital Securities, LLC is a Member of FINRA and SIPC.

Fund Placement

A new group of leading private equity and venture capital firms is emerging right now. Current market turmoil is making clear that many long-established firms focus more on asset gathering than generating capital gains for investors. Limited partners are seeking new relationships that can deliver the returns they require. We focus on Funds I through IV, top-offs as well as full mandates.

Secondaries

We offer customized buy-side and sell-side solutions to institutional investors seeking access to opportunities in the private equity secondary market. Our broad, deep network of buyers and sellers consist of global limited partners including: secondary funds, consultants, fund of funds, pensions, endowments, banks, insurance companies, and family offices.
